PURPOSE:To industrially advantageously obtain the subject compound useful for acid component of insecticide, by using arylsulfones and subjecting above compound of cis- or mixture of cis-/trans-configuration to transition reaction to trans-configuration in a modest condition. CONSTITUTION:2,2-dimethyl-3-(2,2-dihalovinyl)-cyclopropane carboxylic acid halide of cis- or mixture of cis-/trans-configuration is reacted with arylsulfonic acid (especially triarylphosphine, etc., is preferable) to obtain trans-2,2- dimethyl-3-(2,2-dihalovinyl)-cyclopropane carboxylic acid halide. The reaction to transconfiguration is more smoothly performed in the presence of halogen compound (e.g., dichloric acid chloride). Using amount of arylphosphines is preferably 1/100-1/3 times mol to treated 2,2-dimethyl-3-(2,2-dihalovinyl)- cyclopropane carboxylic acid and the amount of halogen compound is preferably 1/50-1/2 times mol to arylphosphines. |
