PURPOSE:To improve cleanability and electrostatic charge rising characteristic while sufficiently assuring low-temp. fixability and offset resistance by incorporating a toner contg. a specific copolymer of crystalline polyester and metal salt of aliphat. carboxylic acid into the developer. CONSTITUTION:The toner contg. the block copolymer or graft copolymer of the crystalline polyester and an ion-crosslinked amorphous vinyl polymer having >=3.5 value of the ratio Mw/Mn between number average mol. wt. Mn and weight average mol. wt. MW and the metal salt of the aliphat. carboxylic acid are incorporated into the developer. The low-temp. adsorbing property by the crystalline polyester component and the good wettability at the time of melting are obtainable with this toner; in addition, the toner itself exhibits the offset resistance by the ion-crosslinked amorphous vinyl polymer component contributing to the low-temp. fixability. Since the toner incorporated with the metal salt of the aliphat. carboxylic acid is used, the toner particles are more likely to slip and, for example, the triboelectrostatic charge performance by agitation with the carrier is improved. The developer has the normal low-temp. fixability and offset resistance and the improved cleanability and electrostatic charge rising characteristic in this way. |
