PURPOSE: To vary injection timing with a simple and cheap structure by arranging a spiral portion for measuring fuel in a plunger and a pneumatic device for varying the initial position of the spiral portion between the plunger and a cam. CONSTITUTION: A plunger 14 is arranged in a stationary drum 12, and a tappet assembly 16, a roller assembly 18 and a cam 20 are sequentially arranged below the plunger 14 respectively. In this case, a spiral portion 36 defining a radial recess 37 is formed on the surface of the plunger 14. An assembly 40 formed by a lug-pinion type rotor is arranged for rotating the spiral portion 36. A pair of upper and lower cup-shaped elements 44, 46 are provided as a device for varying the height of the tappet. The time at which the spiral portion 36 is in conformity with a filled/overflow port 32 is varied by rotating the upper element 44 and varying the position where a spiral groove hole 48 of the said element and an opening 54 are in conformity with each other so that the injection timing is varied. |
