PURPOSE:To prevent crystal growth of a colorant and reconglomeration of crystals with each other during preparation by constituting a preparation process of a stage for dispersing a colorant which is dispersed finely in an aq. system into a polymerizazble monomer by the flushing method, and a stage for polymerizing the monomer in the presence of a specified compd. CONSTITUTION:A process for prepg. a toner for development of electrostatic images by dispersing a colorant, a charge controller, etc., into a polymerizable monomer and then polymerizing the monomer, is constituted of a stage for dispersing a colorant dispersed finely in an aq. system into a polymerizable monomer by the flushing method, and a stage for polymerizing the monomer in the presence of a compd. expressed by the formula I. In the formula I, Dye is a residue of a colorant; A is a divalent group; each R1 and R2 is an H atom or an alkyl group, wherein R1 may form a ring together with R2; each m and n is zero or an optional positive integer. Thus, the colorant deposited with said compd. forms a stable electric double layer, repelling other particles electrically. As the result, the particles of the colorant are dispersed stably causing almost no conglomeration even if polymerization conditions are changed within a usual range. |
