The invention relates to a credit card device for parking at variable hourly rates. It comprises in combination: a credit card having an area 2 capable of displaying a signal showing that the card 1 is in operation, a counting device whose value reduces from a nominal value equal to the value of the credit card in order to tend towards zero as the parking time elapes, a device making it possible to make the said counting device progress at a speed proportional to the value of the hourly parking rate; a support 1a for accommodating the credit card 1; a source for supplying electrical energy to the devices contained within the credit card; means 8, 9 making it possible to modify the value of the hourly parking rate; and at least one contact 10 making it possible to connect the said electrical source to the said devices when the card 1 is engaged on its support 1a. <IMAGE>
