The machine of ES 8702481 for mixing of meat masses, esp. in prodn. of sweet ham or similar, is improved by the use of tubular reinforcing ribs around the mixing chamber, through which a coolant is circulated during mixing. The blades on the mixer are of elliptical section to facilitate rotation in the meat mass, the lower blade being in contact with the base of the container, and provided with a cover plate of plastics material to prevent rupture of the meat mass on turning the blades.
