PURPOSE:To stably perform high-efficient, low-cost printing plate development of high quality with a small amount of a fresh liquid developer without any deterioration of the liquid developer by limiting the length of a slit area formed of the contacting overlap part of the head end part of the sheet of a base slit nozzle to specific length. CONSTITUTION:This is a printing plate developing device which supplies and applies a small amount of the liquid developer, little by little, onto the printing plate 101 when the printing plate 101 is conveyed to a development area by the base slit nozzle consisting of a discharge pipe 21 having discharge ports 22 and two upper and lower flat sheets 28 and 29, and the length l of the slit area formed of the contacting overlap parts of the head end parts of both sheets 28 and 29 is limited to 20-50mm. When the position difference S between the head end parts of the upper and lower flat sheets is zero or when the upper sheet is shorter, a better result is obtained and when the difference is <=5mm, a stable area is obtained. Consequently, only the necessary small number amount of the developer can be applied to the surface of the printing plate 101 uniformly. |
