PURPOSE:To obtain a toner providing picture images of same quality as an initial picture image even after continuous copy and having stable chargeability of frictional electricity of positive polarity by incorporating a hydrazone compd. as a positive charge controlling agent into a toner. CONSTITUTION:A hydrazone compd. is incorporated as a positive charge controlling agent into a toner consisting of a binder resin and a colorant, wherein a compd. expressed by the formula I, II, or III is suitable as the hydrazone compd. for the positive charge controlling agent. In the formula I, and III, each R1-R4, and R6-R9, is H, 1-3C alkyl, 1-3C alkoxy group, etc.; R5 is an alkyl group or a benzyl group. In the formula II, Ar is naphthalene or a naphthalene homologue, anthracene ring, styryl group or a substituted product thereof; R is an alkyl group or a benzyl group. Thus, a toner having stable chargeability for frictional electricity, sharp and uniform distribution of frictional electric charge, controllability to an amt. of electric charge suited to a developing system to be used, providing picture images of high faithfulness as good as an initial picture image even after continuous use without generating contamination of comming nor scattering of toner, is obtd. |
