PURPOSE:To stably control by controlling the switching of conduction on the basis of the number of pulses generated upon rotation of a rotor. CONSTITUTION:A controller for a motor is composed of magnetic resistance elements 220A-220B, differential amplifiers 103-104, comparators 105-106, an up/down clock generator 107, an up/down counter 108, a motor drive signal generator 109, a motor driver 110, a position detecting counter 111, an external control unit 112, a speed control reference signal generator 113, and a motor speed control unit 114. A pulse of angle period of one divided by the integer number of the maximum common divisor of the angle period of rotor and stator poles (e.g., 1.25 deg./pulse) is generated upon rotation of the rotor, and coils are switched to be conducted by counting, detecting and conducting controls. Thus, a specific detection value is set to a desired value, and the switching timing of the conduction of the coil can be altered during the operation of the motor. |
