PURPOSE:To set an end mark on a sheet material being a raw fabric to slit it to a given width and to enable winding of the sheet material having a specified length extending from the mark, by a method wherein an end mark providing means is provided between the feed part of a slitter machine and a cutter. CONSTITUTION:A pressure drum 8 forces a sheet material 2, slit during printing, into pressure contact with a plate drum 9a by means of a pressure contact means 13, e.g. an air cylinder, a solenoid, and during non-printing, it is held in a position where it is separated from the plate drum 9. The pressure contact means 13 is operated by means of an electric signal, and by means of the signal, by utilizing a counter to detect a winding length of a product, a position where a product is printed and a length by which the product is printed are preset. According to the data, an end mark is automatically set in a given position. The end mark providing means is situated in an arbitrary position in the direction of the width of a slitter machine. By pressing the pressure drum 8 against the plate drum 9 in a given position in the direction of the width of the product and when occasion demands by means of the pressure contact means 13, the end mark is printed simultaneously with slit machining on the sheet material 2. |
