<p>PURPOSE:To enhance the light shielding effect to driving elements and to eliminate the need for the labor of assembling a light shielding mask by providing the light shielding mask to an active matrix substrate side where there are the driving elements and extending a light shieldable insulating film for the driving elements to form the light shielding mask of the pattern enclosing the picture element electrodes. CONSTITUTION:The light shielding mask 40 is provided to the active matrix substrate side 50 where the driving elements 30 are assembled so that the light shielding for sepn. of picture element display and the light shielding to the driving elements 30 can be executed on the same substrate 50. Further, a light shielding property is provided to the insulating film 6 for the driving elements and the light shielding mask 40 of the pattern extending from the driving element parts and enclosing the periphery of the picture element electrodes 10 is formed. Even the side faces of the driving elements 30 are thereby completely enclosed by the light shieldable film 6 and the possibility of infiltration of scattered light into a semiconductor film 4 is eliminated. In addition, the formation of the light shielding mask 40 in the same process as for the light shieldable insulating film 6 for the driving elements is enabled.</p> |
