Colour ribbon for dye transfer under the action of heat

In a known colour ribbon, a colour layer applied to a carrier layer contains a component which is exothermally decomposable on heating. In the novel colour ribbon (1), a particularly good augmentation of the heating of the colour layer (3) and a firm attachment of the molten colour to a recording medium to be printed is achieved when the component in the colour layer (3) consists of cellulose nitrate. Catalytic admixtures calibrate the decomposition temperature of the cellulose nitrate to within the range between 100@C and 150@C. <IMAGE>
