PURPOSE:To attain quick correction of homonyms at a converted part by storing the dictionaries used when the KANA(Japanese syllabary)/KANJI(Chinese character) conversion is performed for a paragraph including KANJI undergone the KANA/KANJI conversion for each KANA/KANJI conversion part. CONSTITUTION:The KANA characters supplied from a keyboard 1 or a collective selection KANA buffer 9 are applied to a KANA buffer 2 and stored there temporarily. The KANA sentences are supplied to a KANA/KANJI conversion processing circuit 3 from the buffer 2. Then the corresponding sentences including KANJI are detected out of dictionaries 3a and 3b, and the result of conversion is transferred to a result buffer 6. Whether the normal dictionary 3a or the dictionary 3b for names of persons and places is used for KANA/KANJI conversion is stored to a buffer 4 by the flag information. Another buffer 5 stores the number of homonyms, i.e., the number of candidates at each conversion part into a sentence including KANJI. |
