Electrolytic recording material for wet recording techniques

The invention relates to an electrolytic recording material for all known wet-recording techniques based on paper. The object of the invention is to develop a recording material by means of which the recording even of halftones as well as an extension of the ranges of write current (recording current) intensity, spindle speed, and pulse rate in the wet recording techniques is made possible. This is achieved by the recording material being impregnated with an impregnating medium which consists of a combination of a strong electrolyte, colour-forming and colour-intensifying reagents, humectants and agents for setting a pH in the range of from 1 to 11. Depending on the composition and the pH control, tints (hues, shades) in the range from brownish-purple to yellowish-brown are generated.
