What is presented is a coupling system for preferred use in electronic locking systems, the drive elements of which allow linear and/or rotary bolt actuation. Based on the operating principle of mechanical combination locks, with constructional sizes, mechanical seams and proven mechanical elements known there being preserved, a coupling system, in which the control function is performed by an electromagnetic detent element, is described. When current flows, coupling takes place by means of a drop-in lever which engages into a recess of a driving plate, so that the bolt can then be actuated as a result of the rotation of the plate. Presented as a further version is a two-plate design, in which the drop-in lever engages simultaneously into recesses of a driving plate and of a drive plate and thus ensures coupling. This version can be mechanically actuated directly from inside the door, without a code being entered. Since the system works with a low current requirement, it is particularly suitable for battery-supplied use. <IMAGE>
