1. Method of making a ceramic material by sintering under load of a powder comprising reinforcing fibres, wherein the intimate mixing of a grain powder of a solid solution of silicon, aluminum, oxygen and nitrogen, and of reinforcing fibres of silicon carbide and/or silicon nitride is made, characterized in that said reinforcing fibres have a length at most equal to 3000 mu m and a diameter at most equal to 15 mu m, in that the particle size of said powder is micronic or submicronic directly depending on the diameter of said reinforcing fibres, and in that said blend is sintered at a temperature between 1500 degrees C and 1650 degrees C and under a pressure of about 40 MPa. |
