PURPOSE:To eliminate a digital noise without losing information at a corner part by performing a smoothing processing when an angle made by lines correcting an arbitrary point on a sequence of points and two points separated by a constant number of points in the neighborhood of the arbitrary point exceeds a constant value. CONSTITUTION:A line graphic expressed in the sequence of points by the thinning and the extraction of the contour of read picture data is stored in a memory device, and the angle theta made by a line 5ab and a line segment ac is found by reading out the coordinate of a remarked point (a) and reference points (b) and (c) separated by L number of point (a) forward and rearward on the same sequence of points as the remarked point (a). And when the value theta is less than a prescribed value, it is judged that it is the corner part, then, no smoothing processing is performed, and when the theta exceeds the prescribed value, indication to perform the smoothing processing of the remarked point (a) is issued to a smoothing processing part. |
