In a method for triggering UV-sensitive receiving elements by means of a UV radiation source, the UV-sensitive receiving elements being in each case a gas-discharge tube having a UV-transparent glass body, the same gas-discharge tube is used as UV-radiation source as for the receiving elements and operated at a voltage which is above the extinction voltage of the gas-discharge tube.
