In order to repair or to exchange a main shut-off device of a gas line, said gas line has to be secured against the escape of gas. The invention proposes a gas-tight air-lock container which has, on one end side, a through-passage opening and a bracing device which encloses the through-passage opening and by means of which the air-lock container can be connected in a gas-tight manner to the cleaning opening of the gas line, which has, on its other end side, a cutout which is located diametrically opposite the through-passage opening and in which an operating shaft is rotatably arranged such that it can be displaced in a gas-tight manner in the direction between through-passage opening and cutout, and which has a further cutout, through which a gas-tight handling glove or the like fastened on the end side projects into the interior of the air-lock container, and in which there is provided a bubble, which can be inflated from outside the air-lock container, a plunger piston or the like for sealing the gas line.
