<p>A method of detecting a predisposition to, or the existence of, a hypertensive and/or tumourigenic state in biological material, which comprises: (i) assaying a test sample obtained from a human or other mammal for an angiotensin receptor; and (ii) determining whether the results of the assay reflect a predisposition to, or the existence of, a hypertensive and/or tumourigenic state in the test sample. Angiotensin antagonists are used in treating hypertension and/or tumours or other neoplasms and in preventing ectopic hormone production.</p> |
