<p>A small product dispenser for cosmetics such as creams and lotion to be carried in a handbag or purse. The problem with cosmetic dispensers carried with a purse is the accidental discharge of the contents. The dispenser employs a rotatable locking ring to prevent accidental discharge. The locking ring (54) is coupled to a closure element (66) in such a fashion that the closure element (66) covers a discharge opening (50) of the dispenser when the actuator (46) is locked in position in order to retard the drying and consequent hardening of any products remaining within a passageway (48) adjacent the discharge opening (50). As the locking ring (54) is turned to its second orientation enabling the actuator (46) to be depressed, the closure element (66) moves away from the discharge opening (50) to permit full flow of products therethrough.</p> |
