Light alloy control piston

In a light alloy piston with segment-like control elements cast on the inside of the supporting skirt surfaces and anchored in the hubs of the piston pin bosses, the said control elements are perforated and exposed over their entire peripheral length in the oil ring groove above the piston pin, a bead-like inner collar extending on their piston head-side section from the inside contour as an extension of the piston head to 10 to 50% of their height and the elements on both sides of the connecting rod plane of oscillation having a recess open towards the bottom skirt end. In order to ensure a secure anchoring of the control elements in the piston, the wall thickness of each control element through a radially running recess made on its upper edge area is less than in its other area.
