<p>PURPOSE:To raise the efficiency of operation by using a tunnel excavator consisting of an excavator for ahead of partition wall between a shield body and the facing side, a forward driver for the shield hood of the tip and the shield body, and a reaction receiver for the shield body during excavation. CONSTITUTION:A tunnel excavator is provided with a shield body 4 with a partition wall 3 on the facing 2 side, an excavator 5 set ahead of the wall 3, a shield hood 6 provided on the tip of the body 4, and an endless track crawler 7. The body 4 has a reaction receiver 9 for the body 4 during excavation, and the hood 6 has the same outside shape as the cross-sectional shape of excavated hole 8, where the front side is gradually expanded and projected forwards from the wall 3. A seal member 10 is fitted into the peripheral groove of the hood 6 and expanded radially outwards by the action of air to make it contact closely with the inner surface of the hole 8. Safer operation can thus be made.</p> |
