<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a storage device from being destroyed when the storage device is inserted into a connector by controlling the power supply to the connector by means of the output signal of a means which detects the insertion of the storage device and is provided to the cover. CONSTITUTION:When the cover 37 is fitted, the projecting part 57a of the cover 37 is brought into contact with the contact piece 58 of a switch 53 through the hole 50 of the equipment main body 20 and inputs a cover fitting signal to a power supply switching circuit 55 so as to make power supply to the connector 38. In the state where the cover 37 is not fitted, the projecting section 57a of the cover 37 is separated from the contact piece 58 and sends a cover non-fitting signal to the circuit 55. As a result, no power supply is made to the connector 38. In addition, when a ROM/RAM card 35 which is the storage device is not correctly inserted into the connector 38, the card 35 is brought into contact with the projecting part 57b of the cover 37 and the cover 37 cannot be fitted to the main body 20. As a result, no power supply is made to the connector 38. Therefore, the power supply to the connector 38 can be made only when the card 35 is correctly inserted into the connector 38 and thus terminal equipment which prevent destruction of the card 35 is obtained.</p> |
