A double-walled inflatable garment for aircrew providing protection against the adverse effects of high levels of acceleration and of high altitude flight. The inner wall is made from an extensible fabric and the outer wall from an inextensible fabric. One embodiment comprises a pair of trousers (14) incorporating protection for the feet (12) which can be worn over flying overalls. pressurised gas is admitted via a pipe (28) located in the abdominal region. Adjustment means in the form of lacing cords (21, 22) are provided so that the garment may be adjusted for a comfortable fit. A second embodiment comprises a sleeveless vest for supporting the chest of the wearer particularly under positive pressure breathing conditions.
