PURPOSE:To enable an initial ignition to be smoothly performed and a reignition to be safely performed by a method wherein when an initial ignition is missed even if an igniting means is operated, a proportional valve is controlled in such a way as a supplying amount of fuel for a burner may be increased. CONSTITUTION:A control device 30 is operated when a water temperature is set in a gas hot water feeder and a water plug is opened. Combustion air is supplied from a blower 17 with a control signal from a sequence control part 33. A spark forming device 13 may perform a spark discharging operation and at the same time, a main solenoid valve 24 is opened. As an operation sensing part 31 detects the spark discharging operation, a signal is sent to the sequence controlling part 33, a main solenoid valve 23 is opened and a governor proportional valve 22 is conducted. An energized current is set for performing a gradual ignition. At this time, if the combustion device is not ignited, an electric current is controlled to be increased until an ignition is carried out. Since an air blower 17 is controlled to have a specified number of rotation, mixture gas to be supplied to the combustion device becomes gas-rich state and then the combustion device may easily perform an igniting operation. After ignition, the electric current is changed over to a value for performing a slow ignition. |
