PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of cracks of an ultrasonic wave vibrator by cutting off an ultrasonic wave probe raw material at a minute pitch via a dummy packing member. CONSTITUTION:The dummy packing member 8 whose hardness is at least equal to the packing member 5 is provided via an adhesives to the cut-off start side of the packing member 5 and the member 8 is fixed to a cutting jig by a fixing jig 9 together with the ultrasonic wave probe raw material 7 so as not to be moved. Then a cutting blade 12 with a prescribed thickness is used to apply repetitive cutting in the same direction at a prescribed pitch to form the ultrasonic wave vibrator element group. The cutting blade 12 cuts off the dummy packing member 8 to eliminate the distortion of the cutting blade 12. Thus, continuous cutting of the ultrasonic wave vibration element is facilitated without production of cracks. |
