PURPOSE:To print on a sheet material other than paper such as plastic film, by providing at least one side of a base material with a surface layer containing compounds selected from homopolymers or copolymers of specific monomers, cinnamic acid and cinnamic acid derivatives. CONSTITUTION:Base materials to be used are paper, synthetic paper, nonwoven fabric, thermoplastic resin sheet, ceramic sheet, metallic fiber sheet, metalized sheet metallic foil, metal plate and composite sheet combining these. At least one side of a base material is provided with a surface layer containing, as principal component, at least one resin selected from phenyl methacrylate benzyl methacrylate and styrene homopolymers or copolymers, and cinnamic acid and/or cinnamic acid derivatives. It is necessary to contain 0.5% by weight or more of each of said compounds in said surface layer, and particularly when polymer is contained, 5% by weight or more thereof is suitable. Also, a suitable film thickness of the surface layer is about 1-10mum. |
