<p>The coding method ensures the conversion of digital picture signals furnished in the form of a succession of bits which reflect, in a first code, the respective states of the pixels of a supposed picture read by linear scanning. The bytewise grouped bits of the first code are converted into a compressed code permitting a picture storage in digital form in a small volume of a memory of a micro-editing station. The first code bytes are coded in the form of modules of four different types which respectively permit a compressive coding of the bytes of the uniform regions of the picture, transition zones, identical zones of successive lines, as well as successive disparate and identical motive-repetition bytes, in particular for shaded zones. <IMAGE></p> |
