METHOD OF IMPROVING THE ADHESION PROPERTIES OF POLYAMIDE FIBERS AND PRODUCTS DERIVED THEREFROM, AND A METHOD OF PREPARING COMPOSITES

The adhesion properties of polyamide fibers are improved by treating the fibers with an acid halide, such as oxalyl chloride, in a polar aprotic solvent, and then optionally with a functional compound such as water or glycidol. Fiber reinforced materials having high resistance towards pull-out and other mechanical stresses are made using the so treated polyamide fibers.
