A fabric for drapery has a plurality of threads (2) of the fabric formed into a series of loops (7) thereby to create a pattern of loops (7) on one side of the fabric. One or more cords, clips or threads can then be passed through some or all of the loops to enable the fabric to be rucked into a predetermined arrangement such as would be suitable for a drawn up window blind or a permanently rucked panel for use in clothing or other forms of drapery. Preferably, each of said threads (2) comprises two yarn filaments (3, 4), one (3) of which is interlaced with the other threads of the fabric in accordance with the structural pattern of the fabric, and the other (4) of which is left free of the structure of the fabric at predetermined positions for a predetermined length to form the series of loops (7). This ensures that there are no holes or variations in the structure or weave of the fabric when viewed from the front or ''right'' side. |
