PURPOSE:To facilitate a packing operation and to increase the quantity of pole active materials by segmenting the inside of a porous tubes consisting of glass fibers by an isolation plate to two chambers, packing lead powder into the respective chambers and using the same as the positive pole active material and the negative pole active material. CONSTITUTION:The acid- and oxidation resistant porous tube 2 consisting of the glass fibers is mounted to the bottom end of a circular cylindrical support 1 made of a synthetic resin provided with a flange part for mounting to a storage battery and is divided by the isolation plate 3 to the columnar spaces each having a semicircular section. The positive pole active material 4 consisting of lead peroxide formed from the raw material lead powder by electrical chemical conversion and the negative pole active material 5 consisting of spongy lead are packed into the respective spaces. Since the simultaneous packing of the raw material lead powders is enabled by this constitution, the efficiency of the operation is improved and since the active mass is large, the sp. gr. sensor having a long life is obtd. |
