<p>PURPOSE:To confine the breakdown of a thermal head due to malfunction to the minimum, by providing an apparatus with said thermal head, a printing power source supplying said head with power and a control means controlling the output of said printing power source. CONSTITUTION:A thermal head part 1 is supplied with printing power from a printing power source part 2. Then, the printing power source part 2 for said thermal head part 1 is controlled by a controller 3, and an apparatus is so constituted that an output-ON command is given to the printing power source part 2, only when the thermal head part 1 is required to be supplied with applied power, and an output-OFF command is given thereto in other cases. Since the ON-time of said printing power source part 2 is the required minimum in an electrothermal recording printer thus constituted, it is possible to reduce the possibility of a thermal head breakdown.</p> |
