PURPOSE:To make it possible to copy a manuscript through using a line sensor shorter than the width of the manuscript, by a construction wherein an electrothermal transfer line head having an effective recording width and a resolution equal to those of a reading head is moved at a velocity synchronous with the reading head to perform divisional recording. CONSTITUTION:When a manuscript to be copied is placed on a manuscript base 2 and copying is started, a reading head 1 reads a manuscript part with a width of 64mm per one scan while being scanningly moved along guide rods 7 in a direction X. Simultaneously and in conjunction with the reading head 1, a recoding head 3 is also moved at a synchronous velocity in a direction Y' while recording on a paper placed on a recording base paper 5 through an ink film 4. At the time of returning carriages for the heads 1, 3, the reading head 1 and the recording base paper 5 are moved by the effective width, 64mm, of the heads 1, 2 in direction Y and X', respectively, and then the heads 1, 3 are again scanningly moved at predetermined velocities in the directions X and Y', respectively. These operations are sequentially repeated, whereby the manuscript having a predetermined size can be entirely copied. |
