<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate the wastefulness of an ink ribbon and to shorten a printing time, by judging the preferential order of the printing data of respective colors stored in two printing buffer and performing printing on the basis of said preferential order. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 4 discriminates which of the surfaces A, B of a ribbon cassette is used on the basis of the signals of switches SW1, SW2 when a power supply is closed or when the ribbon cassette is replaced on the basis of the signal of a ribbon end sensor 5. The preferential order of the printing data of respective colors stored in the first and second printing buffers 101, 102 is discriminated on the basis of the discrimination signal and the data are successively outputted to a thermal head 11 from a color high in the preferential order through a driver 10 to be successively printed. By this method, the wastefulness of an ink ribbon is eliminated and a printing time can be shortened.</p> |
