PURPOSE:To manufacture clad steel tubes continuously at low cost, by build-up welding a material of different kind on the surface of steel tube material and passing it through a tube reducer and forming layered clad material on the surface of the base material. CONSTITUTION:A wire 3 different in chemical composition from the base material that becomes a clad material 1 is build-up welded around the base material 2 of a steel tube which is in a roughly drawn state in the process of tube-making while turning the wire. Then, a clad steel tube 5 on which clad material 1 is formed on the surface layer is drawn through dies (tube reducer) 4. By this way, clad steel tubes 5 can be manufactured continuously by a small number of processes. |
