PURPOSE:To improve the luminous starting performance and to make it possible to read the draft accurately at a high speed and with no time lag, by providing a light source to light near the main electrode of a xenon glow lamp. CONSTITUTION:Both ends of a xenon glow lamp 3 are held by lamp holders 9, main electrodes 31a and 31b are provided at the both ends, while an auxiliary electrode 32 is formed at the side surface of the tube to start the discharge rapidly. At one side lamp holder 9, a minilamp 21, which is an incandescent lamp, is buried with an adhesive 20, and lighted through a lead wire 22. The light from the minilamp 21 lights near the electrode 31b to generate ionized ion electrons, and generates the discharge instantly between the auxiliary electrode 32, making the time necessary to light the lamp 3 shorter. Consequently, the luminous starting performance can be improved extensively, and an accurate draft reading at a high speed and with no time lag can be made possible. |
