PRODUCTION OF COMPOUND OXIDE PRECURSOR

PURPOSE:To contrive homogenization of a precursor by specifically advancing hydrolysis of respective alkoxides to be compounded in a method for using metal alkoxides. CONSTITUTION:An Si alkoxide is partially hydrolyzed and added to a solution of an Al alkoxide dissolved or dispersed in an organic solvent or an Al chelate compound having >=1 alkoxide groups and reacted therewith. The resultant reaction product is then mixed with a solution prepared by dissolving an alkoxide of an alkaline (earth) metal in a monoalkyl ether of ethylene glycol to provide a homogeneous solution. Water is further added to the obtained solution to carry out hydrolysis and polymerization reaction to afford a homogeneous gel. The compound oxide precursor obtained by the above-mentioned method can be calcined at a lower temperature than that of a conventional method to provide a high-purity compound oxide of a homogeneous structure without deviation in composition thereof.
