PURPOSE:To easily detect the eccentricity of a rotary shaft or bearing by embedding annular electrodes made of thin plates surrounding the rotary shaft in fins of a noncontact type labyrinth shaft seal part made of an electric insulator which is easier to wear than the rotary shaft. CONSTITUTION:The noncontact labyrinth shaft seal part 3 is formed of the electric insulator which is easier to wear than the rotary shaft 2 and fitted in the annular recessed part of a holding part 8. The shaft seal part 3 has plural fins 4, and the annular electrodes 5 and 6 of different internal diameter size are embedded in the fins 4 and connected to an indicator and a power source which are not shown in a figure through lead wires 7 and 7. The rotary shaft 2 is supported rotatably by the bearing 9 fixed to a partition wall 1 on, for example, a compressor side C and a motor side M. If the rotary shaft 2 or bearing 9 wears and becomes eccentric, the rotary shaft 2 contacts the annular electrodes 5 and 6 in order to deflect the indicator. The direction of the eccentricity is also detected by dividing the annular electrodes 5 and 6 into plural sectorial parts. Consequently, the eccentricity due to the wear is easily detected. |
