PURPOSE:To provide a printer capable of being securely reset after completing prining, both when a rsetting signal shorter than a machine cycle time of a controlling part is inputted and when a resetting signal is inputted during a printing operation based on printing data stored in a data buffer. CONSTITUTION:In a printer for printing on the basis of data inputted from an external data processor, a latching part 22 for storing the resetting signal when the signal is inputted from the external data processor is provided, and the controlling part 11 which supervises the latching part 22 after completing a series of printing operations based on the data and performs a resetting action when the resetting signal is stored in the latching part 22 is provided. Namely, the resetting signal inputted is temporarily held by the latching part 22, while the controlling part 11 supervises the latching part 22 after completing a series of printing operations and performs the resetting action when the reset signal has been inputted. Accordingly, even when the resetting signal is shorter than the machine cycle time of the controlling part, the signal can be securely recognized by the controlling part. |
