<p>PURPOSE:To make it possible to arrange uniform point electron sources in high density on a line direction by arranging electron emitting portions of surface conduction type electron emitter elements emitting electrons in an elliptical cross section so as that the long axes of the said elliptical cross sections are parallel to each other. CONSTITUTION:Multiple surface conduction type electron emitter elements emitting electrons in an elliptical cross section are constructed on a line regularly, and the electron emitting portions 5 of the said emitter elements are arranged so as that long axes of the said elliptical cross sections are parallel to each other. With a common electrode 1 and discrete electrodes 2, when eight elements are excited simultaneously to emit electrons in the same condition to the operating condition of one element, and phosphor 6 is irradiated with these electron beams, luminous portions 7, possible to be point luminous sources, of short mutual intervals can be obtained on a line. Thereby uniform point electron sources can be arranged in high density on a line direction.</p> |
