PURPOSE:To confirm the number and kinds of mails without labor by collating information read by means of a medium reading means with information read by means of a mail information reading means on a receiving side. CONSTITUTION:Immediately before the sealing of the mail in a postal bag, the discrimination code of the mail is read by a mail information reading means 2, the mail information is written into a mail information recording medium such as an IC card 7 (storage medium), and the both IC card and mail are inserted into the postal bag and sent. The mail information is read from the IC card 7 by a medium reading means 26 on the receiving side, the mail informa tion is read by a mail information reading means 22 on the receiving side, and a collating means 23 collates the information read by the medium reading means 26 with the information read by the mail information reading means 22 on the receiving side. Thus, the kinds and number of the mails can be easily and accurately confirmed. |
