An apparatus for forming at least one roof-tile shaped section on the strip material, comprises a first and a second die member, at least one of the members being slidable with respect to the other one with both being vetically spaced to each other, the first member having a main body portion and a step portion, the die surface of both die members having a proper profile, forwarding means for forwarding the strips toward the position between the die members, and platens which is vertically spaced to be disposed at both upper and lower side of the strips and is operative with respect to each other so that the forwarding means can grasp the strips.
