<p>PURPOSE:To easily measure the roll eccentric load and to control the roll eccentricity by recognizing accurately the absolute turning angle of a backup roll and, further, by measuring the roll load corresponding to each load level to store and to obtain the mean roll eccentric load. CONSTITUTION:The roll centers of the upper and lower backup rolls 2a, 2b of the rolling mill are divided by a prescribed angle and absolute turning angle detectors 4a, 4b to recognize the split positions are disposed on each roll 2a, 2b. The rolling mill is rotated in a proper speed and rolling loads are loaded on the rolls 2a, 2b, while changing the rolling load, loads at the split positions of upper and lower backup rolls 2a, 2b and the loads of respective combinations of varied rolling loads are measured and stored. From that combinations, the mean values of the load variations at the same split position of the upper and lower backup rolls 2a, 2b are defined as the respective roll eccentric loads of the backup rolls 2a, 2b.</p> |
