Apparatus for clamping motor vehicle wheels of different rim designs onto a shaft end of a balancing machine, having a sleeve which may be clamped fast on the shaft end, on the end of which sleeve there is a flange having radial slots for fastening the rim, having bolts consisting of shaft and head which have clamping means for pulling the rim fast against the flange, the bolt shafts projecting axially through the slots and their heads engaging behind the edges of the slots and being guided in spiral-shaped grooves in a disc which can be rotated with respect to the flange, and having clamping means for clamping the cones (tapers) in the direction of the flange. The spiral-shaped grooves are open to the circumference of the disc and, especially there, have a short radial path. By this means it is possible to pull out the bolts and, in the case of a corresponding arrangement of the grooves and slots corresponding to different numbers of holes, to set them into other slots and grooves corresponding to another arrangement of numbers of holes. This advantage is connected with the possibility of simultaneous radial displacement of all the bolts. <IMAGE>
