The invention relates to an arrangement for protecting pipe systems against dynamic pressure loading which occurs as a result of sudden changes in flow in pipes with a liquid transporting medium, in long-distance heating systems, in long-distance pipes, circulation systems and pipelines. The aim of the invention is to reduce the space requirement, in particular the overall height, and the outlay in terms of materials. The object of the invention is to position a pressure protection device onto those sections of the pipe systems which are particularly at risk by pressure surges, such that safe restarting and space-saving accommodation are made possible. The object is achieved according to the invention in that a plurality of quick-reacting supply-pressure-controlled fittings are arranged in parallel or in series, with different response values, and each blow out into separate closed vessels which can receive only a limited quantity appropriate for the plant system. The vessels are provided with venting devices which, although they damp the outgoing quantity of media, do not permit a constant gas cushion, with the result that the vessel volume is equal to the output volume from the supply-pressure-controlled fittings.
