The invention relates to a locking ring for a vehicle wheel with a pneumatic tyre, in which the tyre is mounted with its beads (13) on the radially inner circumference of a full drop centre rim next to rim flanges (18) extending essentially radially inwards, the locking ring serving for filling the space between the tyre bead (13) and the full drop centre wall and having a plurality of circumferential hollow chambers (5) which are divided into two planes in the radial direction by a diagonal rib (6), and of which in each plane there are at least two arranged in the axial direction, and the side wall (1) resting against the tyre bead (13) extending perpendicularly to the axis of rotation of the locking ring and the opposite sloping wall (2) extending at an incline with respect to the axis of rotation of about 80 DEG and the diagonal rib (6) ending on the side wall in the radially inner half and on the sloping wall (2) in the radially outer half. In order further to improve a means of avoiding a radially inward displacement of the locking ring, it is proposed that the diagonal rib (6) encloses with the radially inner part of the sloping wall (2) an angle of less than 90 DEG .
