A link (2) is pivotally connected at one end thereof to one end of a case (1) or main body of a door closer so that the link (2) is turnable between a first position where it is received in the case (1) and a second position where it is put outside the case (1). A roller (5) is attached to the link (2), and a cam member (9) is installed within the case (1). Also installed within the case (1) is an urging spring (7) which causes the cam surface (18) of the cam member (9) to abut against the roller (5), whereby the link (2) is urged in the direction to be received in the case (1). The case (1) has no oil enclosed therein. Thus, the construction of the case (1) is simple and inexpensive. When the door is closed, the link (2) is received within the case to improve the external appearance. |
