The length-adjustable spectacle bow consists of a front hinge bow part 1 and a rear ear bow part 8. The latter has at its front end a receiving section 9 with a longitudinally directed central hollow space 11 into which an engaging section 3 of metal, constructed on or fastened to the rear end of the hinge bow part 1, can be inserted by a greater or lesser amount. The receiving section 9 consists of an elastically deformable plastic. Its hollow space 11 has a cross-section which in its undeformed state is of smaller dimensions with respect to the engaging section 3 in a first direction and is of larger dimensions with respect to the engaging section 3 in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. By applying a transverse force the underdimensioning can be eliminated and the hinge bow part 1 inserted accordingly into the ear bow part 8 and, respectively, adjusted to the desired bow length. The two bow parts 1, 8 are fixed with respect to one another by means of the restoring force of the elastically deformed receiving section 9 after it has been relieved of the transverse force. <IMAGE>
