In order to line ponds in a watertight manner, plastic foils are used, the surfaces of which are essentially smooth or only lightly textured. Such ponds lined with plastic foils look ugly and artificial in the initial period until finally a natural flora has established itself in the edge zone. The aim is therefore to manufacture a plastic foil which in the edge zones imitates a natural flora or has a natural flora. The aim is achieved according to the invention by a foil, in which an adhesive layer (6) is arranged in the edge zone (8) of the plastic foil (1) on the side of the pond foil facing away from the ground, and in which a textured covering layer (7) provided with profiles is applied to the adhesive layer (6).
